Blog Against Theocracy Week is Coming

A MESSAGE FROM THE MINISTER OF JUSTICE

mini3topsred.bmp

It’s happening April 6 -8, 2007. I first learned about this at PZ’s place, where I was directed to the ringleader of this esteemed event: Blue Gal, who now has a site devoted to it here. Mock, Paper, Scissors designed the cool logo (which gets better the longer you look at it), and is deeply involved with putting this all together, as is The Neural Gormet.

*Whew!* That’s a lot of credits. Hope I didn’t leave anyone out.

But now to the heart of the matter: The WAAGNFNP needs to be all over this. We need to be loud and proud on this one, people, and not simply because this dangerous melding of government with religion distracts people from focusing on their personal relationship with Astaroth and becoming One with the Vision of Gojira™ - the necesary prerequisites toward hastening the arrival of the Giant Nuclear Fireball.

So here’s your opportunity to show your WAAGNFNP Party Patriotism and click that Submit a Post link above. Officially, BAT Week goes from April 6 -8. But the Ministry of Justice is more than happy to start early and finish late if we have enough submissions. Go ahead, make us blog administrators work overtime processing all the great material you send in. It will definitely be a labor of love.

Remember, BAT Week is about how keeping religion and government separate gives us all more freedom, including the freedom from religion. It’s not a simple religion-bashing exercise. That being said, the good news is there’s plenty of room for participation, even for folks who express themselves in ways other than words. To quote Neural Gourmet:

The idea is simple. Just post something related to, and in support of, the separation of church and state each of those three days. Something big, something small, artistic, musical, textual or otherwise. The topic is your choosing. Whether your thing is stem cell research, intelligent design/Creationism, abortion rights, etc., it’s all good. Separation of church and state impacts so many issues and is essential.

See that? You can submit something artsy, not just wordsy, if you’d like. (Not that wordsy can’t be artsy, of course. But you know what I mean).

So saddle up people, and get ready to ride! When this thing is done, we want everyone to be saying, “Damn…did you see the WAAGNFNP during Blog Against Theocracy Week? They freakin’ tore the Roof off that Sucker!”

Hmm. Looks like I submitted post in the Blog Against Theocracy category way back in 1969.

peter - it’s just part of Aaron’s new “Doing it Backward” program. I thought we’d give it a try.

(Actually, just a bizarre little blog bug that did not get fixed with the WP re-install).

The Ministry of Justice would like to thank you, peter, for being the first to step forward with a WAAGNFNP submission for Blog Against Theocracy week. May many Party Patriots follow your fine example!

As this is an area of inquiry that the Ministry of Offense and Defense has been investigating, rest assured that an official report on the matter will be forthcoming.

One question we have for the party faithful though: “Isn’t theocracy somewhat like being forced to enjoy pornography???” Our inimitable, high on crack research staff has unearthed a number of quotations from sacred texts, from around the globe, that discuss all manner of: bondage, bestiality, cannibalism, orgies, genital shaving and mutilations, etc., ad nauseum, ad infinitum. We need to nip this in the butt bud, before it blossoms into something more serious.

That is actually zero hour in Unix Time - midnight Greenwich Mean Time (UTC to be precise) January 1st, 1970. [still 12/31/1969 in Pacific Time.]

Unix counts times in seconds from that date. In the Beta version of the OS, there was a bug and the clocks counted down and when they got to zero “something big was supposed to happen”. The “error” was caught in early late release and corrected soon after it was to go into production.

[Uninsert blog admin chatter here.] Because in all things temporal and material, I defer to the judgement of the MOJ. (See next comment.)

The Minister of Justice would really prefer to not have blog admin chat cluttering comments. I only responded to peter so folks would have some idea what the heck he was talking about.

    Thank you.

Personally, I’m more interested in preserving separation of church & state than blogging against theocracy (because I believe the theocrats are imploding), but I made some images you are welcome to steal.

I think the WAAGNFNP should be blogging in favour of theocracy! I believe they are our brothers and sisters in apocalyptic inevitability. They have the will, and we have the means. I think it’s a marriage made in… heaven.

No way, Jams! Those people have neither love for nor understanding of the GNF. Don’t be fooled by mis-guided End-times-ers. They shall be crushed beneath the Iron Foot of 3Tops like all Enemies of the Party.

They do have that pesky escape clause. It lacks sincerity.

Thanks for pulling up Liz’s work, JP. I was going to do it tonight after work if you hadn’t already.

Hey Liz - that would be so cool if you could customize this image for the WAAGNFNP. As in, “It is your duty as a Loyal Party Patriot” or “it is your duty to the Party” and have “WAAGNFNP” large in there somewhere. That would make a GREAT post for our blog here for “Preserve Separation of Church and State Week”. Is that do-able? (Full credit to you and your site, of course). I really hope it’s not too rude of me to have asked. As MOJ, it’s my sworn duty to go out on a limb in the interest of the Party.

I was just listening to Stephanie Miller on KQKE. She was talking about Monica Goodling’s plan to plead the fifth and her “law degree” from Pat Robertson’s own Regent University. It seems that Monica is just one of 150 Regent “graduates” working in the Whitehouse. Just another example of the Bush administration pandering to the religious right.
